Candles haven’t been used since the dawn of time in witchcraft—but fire has. For much of history, candles were a luxury, often costing nearly half a day’s wages for a single one. That’s where the old-school hearth came in. The hearth was the fire at the center of the home, both a practical necessity and a spiritual focal point, and it served many of the purposes we now associate with candle magic.
But anyone that has known me for a while, knows I love my fire magic. But candle magic can be temperamental. So getting things right is very important from protection, cleansing to the colour of your candle. That brings me to the point of this blog.
